About Our Products
The Smart Series is Singapore's official distributor of premium smart home brands including EZVIZ, Kaadas, and Amoresol. Founded in 2018, we specialise in digital locks, smart security cameras, and automated laundry systems designed for modern Singapore homes. We're more than just a retailer—we provide expert consultation, professional installation, and dedicated after-sales support to ensure your smart home experience is seamless.
Kaadas specialises in premium smart door and gate locks with advanced biometric technology (fingerprint, vein recognition, face recognition). They offer a range from entry-level to luxury models, including collaborations with brands like Lamborghini. Kaadas locks focus on access control and are ideal for main doors, secondary gates, and entrances.
EZVIZ is a broader smart home ecosystem by the same parent company as Kaadas. EZVIZ locks often integrate with smart cameras, doorbells, and sensors. They excel at providing a unified smart home experience where your lock, camera, and sensors work together in one app. EZVIZ is better if you want an integrated system; Kaadas is better if you want a dedicated premium lock.
Yes, 100% guaranteed. The Smart Series is an official distributor and reseller for all three brands. Every product sold through our store or showroom is authentic, factory-sealed, and comes with a genuine warranty. We import directly from manufacturers and never stock counterfeit or refurbished units. You'll receive a receipt, warranty card, and registration documents with every purchase.
The choice depends on your door type and lifestyle rather than property type:
- Rim locks (like EZVIZ DL03) – Mount on the interior surface of the door. Best for HDB flats, rented properties, or doors you can't modify. No drilling required.
- Deadbolts (like EZVIZ DL04) – Replace your existing deadbolt. Popular for condos and private homes. Requires installing into the door edge.
- Push-pull locks (like Kaadas K9) – Replace the entire exterior lock mechanism. Modern, sleek look. Great for condos and private homes with flexible door requirements.
- Mortise locks (various Kaadas models) – Most secure but require precise door modification. Best for properties where you own and can modify the door structure.
Our team can advise on which type suits your specific door when you visit the showroom or call.
Yes, but with conditions:
- Gate locks: Many Kaadas and EZVIZ models are designed specifically for metal gates. We stock gate-specific locks like the Kaadas R6G and K7G that are weatherproof and built for outdoor gate applications.
- Sliding doors: Most residential smart locks are designed for hinged doors. For sliding doors, you'd typically need a smart sliding door lock or latch system, which we can discuss during a consultation.
Always verify the specific model's compatibility before purchasing. Our team can help match the right lock to your door type.
Digital Locks & Features
Absolutely. Every digital lock has a backup opening method:
- Mechanical key override: All locks come with 1-2 physical keys. You can always unlock manually if the battery is dead.
- Emergency power input: Most models have an emergency USB or contact point where you can connect an external power source to unlock temporarily.
- Battery life: A fully charged battery typically lasts 8-12 months of regular use (100+ fingerprints/passwords per day). Low-battery warnings appear on the app and lock display before it's critical.
Modern fingerprint sensors are highly accurate with recognition rates above 99.9%. However, accuracy depends on sensor type and conditions:
- Optical sensors: Work well with clean, dry fingers. Less reliable when wet or very dusty.
- Capacitive sensors: More reliable in wet conditions and light dirt, common in newer Kaadas models.
- Best practices: Keep your finger slightly damp but not dripping wet. Extreme dirt, ink, or paint can affect reading.
Most locks allow you to register the same fingerprint 2-3 times at different angles to improve recognition consistency. If you frequently have wet or dirty hands, consider password or app-based access as alternatives.
Face Recognition (e.g., EZVIZ DL50FVS)
- Unlock by looking at the lock's camera
- Fastest and most convenient (1-2 seconds)
- Works even with dirty hands or wet fingers
- Typically the most premium option
- Excellent for hands-free entry with shopping bags
Fingerprint Recognition (e.g., Kaadas M9, EZVIZ DL05)
- Unlock by placing finger on sensor
- Very fast (0.5-1 second) and highly secure
- Slightly less convenient than face (must use hands)
- More affordable than face recognition
- Works reliably for most households
Both are excellent. Choose based on lifestyle (hands-free vs. touchless) and budget.
Yes. Most digital locks allow multiple user access:
- Fingerprints: Typically 100-150+ fingerprints per lock (enough for entire family)
- Passwords/PIN codes: Usually 10-50+ codes per lock. You can assign different codes to family members, guests, or DFWs (domestic foreign workers)
- Temporary access: Many smart locks allow you to create time-limited passwords (e.g., access only on Saturdays for a domestic worker)
- Remote access: Owners can manage access via the mobile app, add/remove users, and view access logs
Digital locks are extremely secure when properly used. Here's how:
- Encryption: All smart locks use military-grade encryption (AES-256) for app communication. Data cannot be intercepted mid-transmission.
- Biometric data: Fingerprints and face data are stored only on the lock's local chip. They're never uploaded to the cloud (in most models), so hackers can't steal them remotely.
- App vulnerability: To minimise risk, always use strong passwords for your app account, enable two-factor authentication, and update the app regularly.
- Physical security: The lock body itself is built from premium materials and resistant to drilling, forcing, and weather damage.
- Real-world risk: Hacking a lock remotely is far more difficult than picking a traditional lock or brute-forcing a PIN code on-site.
For maximum security, use a strong unique app password, avoid sharing account credentials, and review access logs regularly via the app.
Installation & Setup
Yes, we have a trained team of professional installers available islandwide. Installation is handled by our technicians who:
- Inspect your door and recommend the best lock type
- Install the lock correctly and securely
- Register your fingerprints, set up passwords, and test the lock
- Brief you on app usage and maintenance
- Provide after-installation support
Installation fees: SGD 150 for installation and removal (both ways for returns). This is waived for orders above a certain amount or during promotions.
Turnaround: Installation typically happens within 3-7 days of purchase. Express installation (24-48 hours) may be available depending on demand.
DIY installation is possible for rim locks (which mount on the interior surface with no drilling). For deadbolts and mortise locks, professional installation is strongly recommended because:
- Precise door edge drilling is required (wrong angle = lock failure)
- Incorrect installation voids the warranty
- Poor installation can damage your door
- Alignment issues cause the lock to jam or malfunction
If you insist on DIY, we provide installation manuals and video guides. However, we cannot offer technical support for self-installed locks if issues arise. Most customers find the professional installation cost well worth the peace of mind and warranty protection.
Installation duration: Typically 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on lock type and door condition.
- Rim locks: 30-45 minutes (minimal disruption, just surface mounting)
- Deadbolts: 1-1.5 hours (requires drilling the door edge)
- Mortise locks: 1.5-2 hours (requires significant door modification)
Door damage: Professional installation causes minimal damage. Technicians use precision drills and leave no marks except the necessary lock openings. Our installers also clean up dust after completing the work.
Reversibility: Most installations are reversible. If you remove the lock, the door returns to its original state (small holes remain, but they're covered by replacing with a traditional lock).
Yes, with proper planning. The method depends on your door type:
- Rim locks: Zero damage. Mount on the interior surface with adhesive or screws. Fully removable with no door modification.
- Gate locks on older metal gates: Usually drillable without issue. Modern drill bits handle older steel well.
- Older HDB wooden doors: Can be retrofitted with deadbolts or mortise locks. Check door thickness and material first (some old HDB doors are hollow-core and unsuitable).
During your showroom visit or initial consultation, our team will inspect your door and confirm whether retrofitting is feasible and which lock type suits your door best.
Warranty & Support
Standard warranty: All digital locks come with 1-3 year manufacturer's warranty (varies by model).
What's covered:
- Manufacturing defects (faulty sensors, motor failure, etc.)
- Biometric recognition issues due to defective hardware
- Battery compartment leaks or water damage from manufacturing fault
- Broken electronic components or circuitry
What's NOT covered:
- Normal wear and tear
- User damage (forced entry, dropping, water immersion)
- Installation errors or unauthorised modifications
- Rust or corrosion from environmental exposure (unless durability was promised)
- Biometric data loss or corrupted settings
All warranty claims must be registered within 30 days of purchase. We handle claims directly—just contact us with your purchase receipt.
Process:
- Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone with details of the issue
- Our support team will diagnose the problem (often just a software reset or battery issue)
- If a repair is needed, we arrange collection from your home or you can visit our showroom
- For defects within warranty, we arrange replacement or repair at no cost
- For out-of-warranty issues, we quote repair costs first before proceeding
Turnaround: Repairs typically take 5-10 working days. We provide a loaner key or temporary access solution while your lock is being serviced.
Spare parts availability: We stock batteries, screws, cables, and other common replacement parts at our showroom.
Warranty registration is optional but highly recommended:
- Without registration: Your lock still has warranty protection if you retain your purchase receipt
- With registration: Easier claim process, priority support, and access to product updates and recalls
- How to register: Visit www.thesmartseries.com/warranty/ and fill in your lock's serial number, purchase date, and contact details
- Online registration takes 2 minutes and covers your lock for the full warranty period
During professional installation, our technicians can register your lock on the spot if you prefer.
Pricing & Payment
Digital lock pricing varies widely based on features and technology:
- Password only: SGD 300-600 (basic, no biometrics)
- Fingerprint: SGD 600-1,500 (reliable, popular choice)
- Fingerprint + WiFi: SGD 1,000-2,000 (remote access via app)
- Face recognition: SGD 1,500-2,500+ (premium, fastest unlock)
- Vein recognition: SGD 2,000-3,000+ (highest security, luxury brands)
Factors affecting price:

Premium locks from Kaadas tend toward the higher end due to luxury positioning and advanced features. EZVIZ offers excellent value across mid to premium ranges with strong ecosystem integration.
Security & Privacy
Data storage: Your biometric data is stored locally on the lock's internal chip, not in the cloud. This is a key security feature of quality locks.
- Fingerprints: Encrypted and stored only on the lock hardware. Cannot be uploaded or accessed remotely.
- Face data: Some face-recognition locks store a template (not a photo) locally. Not stored in the cloud.
- Access logs: When you use app-based unlocking, timestamps and unlock events are logged on the cloud (encrypted), but not your biometric data itself.
Privacy guarantee: Even if a hacker breaches the manufacturer's servers, your biometric data is safe because it's never uploaded. They can see that you unlocked on a certain date, but not your fingerprint or face.
Best practices: Use a strong, unique app password. Enable two-factor authentication on your account. Review access logs monthly for unauthorised activity.
